    Notes

    • Pearl Belle (Wyett) Rosendahl, 1914-1992, (Born in Hornick, Woodbury

Co' IA) loved to read and dreamed of becoming a research assistant. But as with her siblings, she was needed in the hay fields and her education ended in its 9th year.

Over the years, Pearl worked as a housekeeper, and a nanny. These engagements led her into repeated moves northward into Minnesota toward the 'twin cities', Minneapolis and Saint Paul, where better paying positions were to be found. Pearl was 31 years old and working as a waitress when she met a much older gentleman. Magmus Christian Rosendahl was a Danish immigrant who had succeeded in the dairy business and had been widowed many years. They decided they had so much in common that they should marry for mutual convenience. It turned out to be much more than that with the birth of a daughter.

Pearl was talented with needles and threads. This avocation supplemented care giving and other domestic employment as she supported a daughter and husband with failing health.
