    • Chester Clark Wyatt, 1925- (Born in Lime Springs, Howard Co., IA) quit school after grade 6 and worked on farms until he was 17 at which time he joined the Navy. He was assigned to the Sea Bees (Construction Battalion) and attached to the Marine corps. Shipped to the western Pacific theater including the Marshall, and Marianna Islands as well as lwo-Jima and Okinawa. Following the war, Chet moved to the Minneapolis, MN area and worked for a farm implement manufacturing company as a welder. Chet continued with that company when it shifted to manufacturing fork lift trucks and on through the companies acquisition by a California firm manufacturing fork lifts until his retirement.
Story telling is a cottage industry among the Wyatts. Chet is more than a master craftsman, he has made a fine art of story telling and has probably outdone his brother Howard for how far the truth may be stretched.
